The Order of Ministry
Public ministry flows from private communion
The deepest distinctive of Ember Ridge is not the property, the hospitality, or even the restoration work. It is the order of ministry.
Scripture reveals the same order again and again. Isaiah calls God's house a house of prayer. David appointed singers to minister continually before the Lord. Antioch was worshiping and fasting when the Holy Spirit spoke. Jesus withdrew from the crowds to be alone with the Father.
Anna offers the clearest pattern. Luke records that she remained in the temple, worshiping with fasting and prayer night and day. Hers was not a visible ministry. She gave herself to the Lord, and from that hidden place she recognised the Messiah when He appeared.
There are seasons in which ministering to the Lord day and night is itself the assignment. Extended prayer watches, worship, fasting and waiting on God will become part of the life of this house.
We believe the greatest movements of God have never been sustained by gifted personalities alone, but by hidden men and women who first ministered to the Lord.
Church history confirms the same pattern. The Moravian prayer watch at Herrnhut continued for more than a century and helped fuel a missionary movement whose influence reached nations.
The names of intercessors are less remembered than the names of speakers. Their service before God has shaped history all the same.
Intercession
Prayer at the foundation
Intercession is not a department at Ember Ridge. It is part of how the house was conceived, and part of how it will stand.
A dedicated team gives itself to sustained prayer for this work — for the ministries entrusted to Firebrand Revivalists, for the churches and leaders who ask for it, for this region, and for every guest who comes to the mountain, before they arrive and long after they leave.
These intercessors partner with leadership rather than direct it. They receive prayer focuses and carry them faithfully; what they sense is offered back with humility, to be weighed in Scripture and counsel. Their service is spiritual support, not governance — and that clarity is what allows them to pray freely.
Confidentiality is assumed. Alignment with Scripture and with the vision of the house is expected. Where the ministry provides compensation for those called into sustained service, it honors the hours, discipline, and discretion that such prayer requires — never the outcome of the prayer itself.
